Angela invited Jenn to spent Christmas eve with her family in Park Slope, Brooklyn. What a doozy. The day started off with a veritable pantheon of appetizers and cheese plates. Jenn brought stinky Swiss cheese, truffle chevre and plate full of Coppa.

Angela’s cousins have a tradition of tasting a bunch of beer, so we went to Biercraft to load up on bottles. We also stopped at Red, White and Bubbly for wine and an impromptu champagne tasting.

We got through half the beers and needed to take a break after the oatmeal stout. Angela’s mom peer pressured the girls to make their “famous” (for the 2nd time in life) crab cakes. We document the emo looking series below:

The girls served the scallion crab cakes with a chunky lemon zest and cornichon remoulade as well as mustard cream. Jenn concluded her Christmas even contribution with peppermint ganache slivers with sea salt.

Jenn may or may not have tried to eat a whole gingerbread house. Have a wonderful new year, everyone!
